On Friday 18th August, the Junior Choir attended the One Big Voice Festival for the first time at Perth Arena. We had the most incredible experience and the students were wonderful ambassadors for the Aubin Grove Music Program. The festival was attended by 4000 singers from over 80 schools around Perth.

We spent the afternoon at Perth Arena running through our songs before commencing the concert at 6:30pm. The arena was full with spectators and families from all over Perth and the energy was nothing short of electric.

Our favourite songs included Aussie Outback, Love my Life and Mary of York (a song written by the festival co-ordinator about her great great grandmother’s journey from England to York, Australia.)

Special thanks goes to Foulk Sensei, Sheelena (Eloise’s Mum) and Mellissa (Bella’s Mum) for their help and assistance on the day. Thank you also goes to all of our families who attended the festival to hear us sing and see us perform at such a spectacular venue.

We are all looking forward to our next concert event at Regent Gardens Aged Care Facility (Term 4) and will certainly be submitting our names again for One Big Voice 2018.

These are some of the thoughts from our Junior Choir members about their experience at the One Big Voice Festival.

“It was the best night ever.” – Vanessa

“It was Aubin Grove’s first time and a once in a lifetime opportunity.” – Maia

“It was loud and fun!” – Imaan

“It was exciting and fun.” – Emma B

“It was enjoyable and it was nice to have support from my family.” – Kaitlyn

Junior Choir July Update

The Junior Choir have had a very exciting term.

We have been rehearsing every Wednesday afterschool to prepare for the One Big Voice Festival on August 18th. The festival is being held at the Perth Arena and our choir of 45 students will be singing with approximately 4000 other students.

Our Year 3 choir students should be congratulated for all their hard work in preparing for this festival. We are certainly looking forward to a wonderful festival.

Tickets for the One Big Voice Festival are now on sale through Ticketek.

To purchase tickets, please follow the link:

The best ticket options are in the “Beethoven” section in sections: 214, 215 or 318, 319.

The tickets are $33 each and are available for group purchase as well. It will be a wonderful evening full of entertainment.

We are all extremely excited about this upcoming performance.

A copy of these notes went home recently for our upcoming Perth Arena performance.

Perth Arena Choir Note

One Big Voice final note

At the end of last term, the Junior Choir left school for the afternoon to perform for our local aged care facility, Regents’ Gardens. The 45 little singers performed 5 songs for their elderly audience including their favourite festival song “Mary of York”. Of course, we were made to feel very welcome by the carers and the residents.

Following the performance, the students took the opportunity to shake hands and greet the residents. Building this positive connection in our community will hopefully be ongoing. We hope to be able to perform at Regents’ Gardens again next term.

Junior Choir Harmony Day Performance

On Sunday March 26th, the Junior Choir had their very first performance on stage for 2017. After only 4 rehearsals, we took our spot onstage at the Honeywood Harmony Day Festival.

We performed and sang our little hearts out to “True Colours” by Cyndi Lauper and “Count on Me” by Bruno Mars. We even braved the wind and rain while on stage too.

Many thanks to all of the families for supporting our first performance. Thank you for taking the time out on a Sunday to come and watch us shine on stage!

We have already been invited to come back and perform again for the 2018 Harmony Day Festival.
