Atwell College Applications for Year 7

Atwell College visited on Thursday to talk to the year 6’s about Year 7 at Atwell College in 2018. They have asked that all application enrolments forms for students who will be attending next year be returned to the College by Friday 24th September. If your child did not bring one home the other day and they require one, please let me know, as we have a couple of spares.

It was mentioned at the meeting that when you return the completed forms, you are asked to do this in person and take all original documentation they ask for with you as they will photocopy them onsite. Otherwise you are required to have all documentation certified before taking in the application.

Atwell College Enrolments

Atwell College enrolment packages, as well as uniform information, have gone home with students today. Please be aware that the due date for this has changed to Friday 13th October.

National eSmart Week

Last week was National eSmart Week. All the Year 4 to 6 classes participated in one activity to reinforce their Cyber Safety messages from Term 1. The Year Sixes decided to join together and were given the task of designing an ‘eSmart Tattoo’. With the understanding that a tattoo is permanent, we wanted to apply this to the message that ‘what goes online, stays online’. It can not be deleted.

Working in groups of 3, with a student from each class, Year Sixes were challenged to design a logo and come up with a catchy motto to reinforce the eSmart messages they have learned about.

Below you will see some of the finished works! We have laminated these and placed them on our laptops as a constant reminder.

Here is also a handy reminder about balancing time online as we approach the spring school holidays.

Book Week 2017

Aubin Grove celebrates Book Week on the last day of Term 3, Friday 22nd September. This year, our last Book Week parade, has the theme, ‘Escape to Everywhere.’

As a throwback to our early learning years, Room 10 have decided to dress up as a character from the book that first got us ‘into’ reading or a book that we enjoyed when we first started learning to read. We have had lots of awesome ideas brainstormed in class and I am so pleased with the enthusiasm shown by our students!

More information about the time of the parade will come later in the term. I can’t wait to see us all in costume on Friday 22 September!

Swimming Lessons Information

Please ensure that swimming forms and money are paid by this Wednesday. If your child is not swimming, please let me know so that arrangements can be made for the times we will not be at school.

Swimming lessons begin in Week 3, at the ARC, and will run until the end of Week 4.

We will be leaving school at 10:55am each day – for our lesson to begin at 11:20am. Our lesson will stop at 12:00 and our expected arrival back at school is 12:20pm.

Students will wear their bathers under their uniform to school. We will change back into our uniform back at school so students will need to bring thongs and something warm to wear on the bus. Obviously, underwear, towel, goggles and anything else will also need to brought in a labelled bag (not a plastic bag) each day.

More information to come later in the week.
