Harmony Day Picnic

On Harmony Day we celebrated the cultural diversity of our class. To share our culture with each other everyone brought in some food that reflects their family’s heritage for a Harmony Day Picnic. Before we ate all the delicious food everyone shared with the class what they had brought and what part of their background the food came from. We are very proud of the cultural diversity of our class and really enjoyed the opportunity to celebrate multiculturalism at Aubin Grove Primary School.

Food shared with the class came from a wide variety of countries, including: Australia, New Zealand, England, Scotland, Sri Lanka, Portugal, Malaysia, India, Chile, South Africa, Brazil and Sweden.

Here are some photos of the food brought into class. A big thank you to everyone from Room 14 and their families for sharing your culture with us, we were very lucky to have such an amazing array of delicious delicacies!

I remember that day and I liked all the yummy food, like shortbread, spicy burger and lamingtons. My favourite was the spicy burger and the lamington.
It was good to see what other people eat around the world. I really enjoyed getting to experience all tasty food for myself.
