By working together in our teams, we were able to apply our understandings of grammar and punctuation rules to answer multiple choice questions in a class quiz.
We had the opportunity to discuss some common grammar mistakes and correct some misunderstandings. In particular, many of us were surprised that the contraction ‘could’ve’ is short for ‘could have’ NOT ‘could of.’ We also didn’t realise that ‘who’s‘ is the contraction for ‘who is’ while the word whose is used for possession. E.g. Whose bag is this?
