Kindy Home Reading Program

Dear parents

Next week (Thursday 27th July), our Kindy Home Reading program will commence. This involves your child taking home a book for you to share together and with your assistance completing reading tasks and a follow-up activity.

In each pack, there is an information sheet that outlines what to do with your child before reading, during reading and after reading.

Your child’s name tag will be attached to their new reading pack each week. Please return the pack every Thursday. Be aware if the packs are not returned each Thursday, another child will miss out on sharing this special reading experience.

It is vital that you look after all the resources in your pack and let your teacher know if anything goes missing.

We would like two volunteers to swap the books over every Thursday. If you would be interested in taking on this role, please speak to your child’s teacher.

Please view the attached link for more information.

If your link doesn’t work, please copy and paste into your internet browser.

We hope you enjoy reading a fantastic range of books with your child!

Thank you for your support.

We’re Going on a Bear Hunt!

This week, we acted out our favourite story of ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt” in the Nature Playground. We had LOTS of fun going through the swishy swashy grass, splashing and sploshing in the river, squelching and squelching in the oozy mud, stumble trip through the deep forest, got stuck in a cold windy snowstorm and then tiptoed into a dark cave. In the cave we found 1 shiny nose, 2 furry ears and 2 big googly eyes….it was a BEAR! Sooooo we ran all the way back to our safe classroom. Phew!!

More information coming soon!
