We had SO much fun yesterday spending time with our dad’s, pop’s and mums! A BIG thank you to all our special guests for taking the time to come to school and share the morning with us. These are some of the things we got up too: eating toast and drinking juice, shaving faces with shaving cream, building marshmallow towers, making lego construction, playing a ping pong game, making paper aeroplanes, painting aeroplane wings and pretending to be rockstars in our photo booth.
On the morning of our dress up day, we would like to invite parents to stay for a quick parade. This will only take a few minutes and we ask that you do a quick drop off in the morning so you can make your way to the Nature Playground to get a great viewing spot.
Please remember that this is a dress up of Nursery Rhymes not Superheros or Disney characters.
As a way in which to celebrate the end of our Science program in Term 2, we are having a Gum Boot day! On Wednesday 28th June, please send your child with a bag containing their gum boots, and a spare pair of pants and socks. Please make sure that items of clothes are clearly labelled as things can get a bit chaotic when we are changing into dry clothes if need be.
I look forward to seeing you all.
Next Friday, 23rd June, we are going to celebrate the Winter Solstice by wearing our pyjamas to school.
- Students must wear school shoes.
- Students hair must be tied up if shoulder length or longer.
- Students must be able to put their hat on at recess and lunch.
- The clothing must cover shoulders and be no shorter in length than the school uniform.
Looking forward to seeing your groovy pyjamas!
Thank you SO much for supporting the Year 6 Crazy Hair Fundraiser. Everyone looked amazing!!
As part of our Term 2 unit on Nursery Rhymes, we are having a fun filled dress-up day. We would like to invite students to come to school dressed in their favourite Nursery Rhyme on Friday 30th June (Week 10).
If you are looking for costume ideas, here are a few suggestions:
- Jack & Jill
- Little Bo Peep
- Humpty Dumpty
- Incy Wincy Spider
- Ba Ba Black Sheep
- Twinkle Twinkle little star
- Miss Polly had a Dolly
- Hey Diddle Diddle
Or any other character from a Nursery Rhyme.
Please be mindful this is not a fairytale, superhero or disney theme.
Please send your child to school in their costume with appropriate footwear for outdoor play.
Last week, we learnt about the nursery rhyme, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. We had lots of fun making our very own twinkle sprinkle little stars.
The Year 6 Fundraising Committee are planning a “Crazy Hair Day” on Friday 9th of June (Week 7), to raise money for the Graduating Year 6’s “Big Week Out & Graduation Dinner/Dance!”
Please support our graduating class of 2017, by showcasing your “Crazy Hair!”
***Gold Coin Donation please, to be paid to your class teacher on the day***
Thank you for supporting the Graduating Class of 2017!
P.S. It is fine to put colour in the kids’ hair, as long as it is able to wash out after the day. No permanent colour.
Thank you Year 6 Parent Fundraising Committee
Just a few reminders:
- No school for students on Friday as the teachers will be involved in a professional learning day.
- Please return library books on Thursday.
- Lapathon money is due to the office by 15th June.
- Unwanted Entertainment books can be returned to the office.
- Mrs Rose would like each child to bring in a glass jar from home. The jar needs to be no bigger than 10cm with the label removed. Please bring in the jar as soon as possible.
I have a request from Mrs Rose. She would like each child to bring in a reused glass jar from home for an upcoming science lesson. The glass jar needs to be no bigger than 10cm and please remove the label. If you can bring the glass jar to school within the next fortnight, that would be fantastic.
