Wow!!! half the year has passed us by already. Just before we set off on holidays I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for a great first semester.
Next term there are a few important dates that will need to be noted on the calendar and a few changes in class to the way our morning routine will run.
There are no student free days next term or long weekends so we will have 10 full weeks in the classroom. Our assembly is on the last Tuesday of term, 19th September. On Wednesday 20th September our school will be opened from 5:30-7pm for open night. We will also be celebrating book week in the final days of term 3. Watch this space as I will post more information closer to the time.
Next term I would like to introduce kiss and drop on Tuesday and Thursdays. This is to encourage the children to come in and be more independent in their setting up and completing of morning tasks. Our literacy block is changing slightly next term so this will affect our before bell activities. The children will be required to come in and take part in deliberate practice word sorts based on our weekly sounds. It would be beneficial for all children to try and arrive as close to 8:25 as possible each morning so they have the opportunity to complete this task.
Mrs J will be taking the class on the first Monday back. I will be back on the Tuesday and teach for the remainder of the week.
Homework will commence in week 2.
I hope everyone has a safe and well deserved break. I look forward to hearing all of the holiday stories when I return next term.
