Winter Solstice

This Wednesday the 21st of June is the Winter Solstice.  This day marks is the shortest amount of daylight and the longest night of the year in the Southern Hemisphere.

We will have 1 hour without power on this day.

The children are also invited to wear their pyjamas for the day and bring a teddy/soft toy if they wish.

However, please note the following which I will explain to the children:

  1. Students must wear school shoes.
  2. Students hair must be tied up if shoulder length or longer.
  3. Students must be able to put their hat on at recess and lunch.
  4. The clothing must cover shoulders and be no shorter in length than the school uniform.

This is always a fun day and it blends perfectly with Science and History – the good old days with no power – what did children do in school?
