Big last week of term 3.

Wow! Hasn’t this term flown by?

Just a reminder that this Wednesday, between 5.30-7, is our school open night. This is a great opportunity to see everyones amazing work that they have been doing this year. It is a great evening that always attracts a huge crowd so I hope to see you all there.

We are also celebrating Book Week this week. We were lucky enough to have the author Meg McKinlay talk to us yesterday about her new book. On Friday is the Book Wk Parade, 9.00 in the 2 little girls courtyard, where we are showing off our costumes. Students generally stay in their costume for the entire day unless it is too big and uncomfortable to sit in.

Faction Carnival

What an amazing day it was last Friday! Well done to all those who competed throughout the day. There was a lot of cheering and good sportsmanship shown from everyone. Well  done to Josh Draper  who had a sensational day and got Yr 3 boys runner-up.

A big thanks to all those parents who showed up and watched all the action. It was great to see such a big crowd.

Book Week Parade

The Book Week parade is held on the Basketball courts on the last Friday of this term, 22nd Sept. Our class book this term has been ‘The Twits’ so we will be dressing up as characters from this book. However, students can make connections between The Twits characters and characters from another book. They can then dress up as any of those characters they made connection with. Therefore, it is pretty open ended. We discussed as a class who they would like to dress up as so they should all have a good idea. If you have any questions please let me know.

1-1 Macbook Program Information Night

Just a reminder that the 1-1 Macbook Program Information Night  is on next Thursday 7th September at 6pm at the school.

Choir festival

A MASSIVE GOOD LUCK to all the choir students in our class.

They will be singing at the One Big Voice Festival at Perth Arena with 4,500 other choir students. What an amazing experience they will have. I can’t wait to hear all about it.

Book Week Celebrations – Week 10

Book Week Celebrations – Week 10

This year’s CBCA Book Week theme is Escape to Everywhere. Imagination drives creativity and innovation. It allows us to envision and escape to worlds beyond our own, to times other than the here and now. It turns boxes into racing cars, dining chairs and blankets into pirate forts, and dress-ups into sweeping ball gowns. Imagination is behind every fairy tale and picture book we cherish from our childhoods.

Aubin Grove’s celebration of Book Week occurs in Week 10, Term 3 and culminates in our Book Week Parade on the last Friday of term (further details on what the students will dress up as will come soon).

As part of Aubin Grove’s celebration of Book Week, we are excited to have Meg McKinlay visiting Aubin Grove and sharing with us her insights into some of her latest works. Meg caters for readers of all ages and her work ranges from picture books to chapter books for younger readers and junior fiction for readers 10 and over. If you would like to check out Meg’s site the following link will take you there –

Name on Swimming gear

Hi everyone,

Please make sure students have their name on their school clothes and all swimming gear. We do our best to make sure they don’t misplace things but unfortunately items of clothing sometimes seem to have their own legs.

Urgent!! Swimming notes must be handed back.

The notes and money for swimming, which starts in Wk3, MUST be in by this Wednesday 26th. If the swimming forms have been lost then you can get one from the front office.

Swimming starts on Monday week 3. We will be leaving school on the bus for our lessons at 12.55. Therefore, the students need to pack their swimming gear each day so they can change into it just before lunch. Please make sure they have something warm to put on for the trip back.

If you haven’t sent the swimming forms back please make sure they are in by next Monday, wk2.
