The weeks are ticking by very quickly. Please find the student learning listed below:
This week the students will be encountering and using a range of prefixes and adverbs to describe different robots. They will also incorporate new language creatively and constructively in writing original texts. They will use prefixes and suffixes and correct grammar for Year 3 level and beyond to complete a robot design template. They will also use conjunctions, adverbs and prepositions to express time and cause. Finally the students will be producing a procedural text on how to build a robot using all the learning about words and grammar earlier in the week. During Guided Reading we will be looking at inferring, prediction, questioning and summarising.
We will start by using columnar addition and subtraction to solve word problems. Then they will be recalling some of the three-times tables facts. We will then move on to the 3, 4, and 8 tables facts. Finally, the students will be using the two, three, four and eight-times table facts to derive division facts. They will also be writing multiplication and division sentences.
Don’t forget Monday is Waste Free!
Friday is Fume Free Friday and we will be celebrating this with a free Milo.
Have a lovely evening and I am looking forward to seeing you all in the morning.
