Book Week Parade

Happy last day of Term 3!

Despite the wet weather Room 4 has managed to enjoy a mini parade with Room 5 and then a big parade with all the other Year 1 and 2 classes in the undercover area. Thank you for helping your children with their fantastic weather dress ups. They were all so proud to show off their outfits and then enjoyed making little skits incorporating their weather costumes. They then had fun sharing their mini show with their peers.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very happy holiday.  I have enjoyed watching your children grow into ‘secret Year 2’s’ as I call them now and I look forward to Term 4 and all the fun it brings.

Happy holidays!

Book Week

This year we will be celebrating book week the last week of this term. The theme is Escape to Everywhere. We will be having a visit from an author at the beginning of the week and will also be reading some of the books that are on the book awards list. On Friday 22nd September the children are encouraged to come dressed up and take part in a whole school book week dress up parade.

The Year One team has decided to read and explore two of the books that have been selected for an award and are displayed in the library called The Snow Wombat and All I want for Christmas is Rain. This links in nicely with our HASS lessons at the moment as we are learning about the globe, weather and seasons.

We would like your child to come dressed for a particular type of weather  EG rain coat, gumboots, umbrella etc for winter, beanie, scarf, gloves, tracksuit for snow or a sun, cloud etc. Alternatively, they might like to dress as a rainbow, sunshine, or cloud etc.

If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Japanese Incursion

The excitement is building as we await the Japanese drummers. We look forward to experiencing the Japanese culture in a fun way.

Sports Dress Up

Happy Hump Day Everyone!

Friday is sports dress up. You can come as your favourite sports star or in your own teams kit. Bring a gold coin to support the Year 6’s big week.

Science Fair

Room 4 were so very proud of our class scientists at the science fair! We were AMAZED by the quality of the designs for solutions to some of the global issues that the Earth faces. The students obviously spent a great deal of time working with families to create such fabulous inventions. Thank you to all involved. A year 2 student won the K-2 category and will represent Aubin Grove in the grand final at Murdoch University.  We now await the announcement and prizes for the overall winners and runners up in the coming weeks. Thank you to all who took part. We hope you enjoyed it.

Sorry about the lack of photos. I’m having difficulty posting them at the moment.

Honour Certificates

Congratulations to Elizabeth and Stella to achieving awards today! They were very well deserved.

Room 4 Assembly

A huge well done to all the students in Room 4 for contributing to our assembly item.  It took great courage to speak in front of so many people, but everyone spoke clearly and enjoyed themselves. I am so proud. Congratulations.

Pyjama Day

Please note that Pyjama Day will take place on Wednesday this week, the Winter Solstice.

Winter Solstice

On Friday 23rd June 2017 we are going to celebrate the Winter Solstice by wearing our pyjamas to school.  We will also work for 1 hour without power, taking us back into the past once again!

  1. Students must wear school shoes.
  2. Students hair must be tied up if shoulder length or longer.
  3. Students must be able to put their hat on at recess and lunch.
  4. The clothing must cover shoulders and be no shorter in length than the school uniform.

Crazy Hair Day

Can you guess who’s got the crazy hair designs?
