As we are in week ten homework folders will not be sent home this week. If your child has not returned their folder and still has a reading book at home please return it ASAP so we can return the reading trolley for this term.

Thank you

Week 10 update

Good morning all,

I can not believe we are at week 10 already!

As you all know next Wednesday night from 5.30 until 7.00 the school will be open for Open Night. We have been very busily preparing for this night in our classroom and are all very excited for you all to see the fabulous work we have been doing this term. In preparation for Wednesday night, starting Monday, we will have a Kiss and Drop at the door policy. The room will be top secret as of Monday!

Also, next week, we celebrate Book Week. This means that on the Wednesday we will have an author visit our school. We will be going to chat with her about her writing processes. On Friday of next week is the book week dress up. Please send your child to school in a dress up related to ‘weather’.

Looking forward to a busy and productive final week of Term 3. Thank you all again for your continued support.

School Photos

If you have ordered school photos, please check your child’s bag after school as they are coming home today.

Dress Up

On Friday the 25th of August children can come to school dressed in the colours of their favourite sport team for a gold coin donation. Fund raising is going towards the Year 6 Big Week Out.

Book Week 2017

This year we will be celebrating book week the last week of this term. The theme is Escape to Everywhere. We will be having a visit from an author at the beginning of the week and will also be reading some of the books that are on the book awards list. On Friday 22nd September the children are encouraged to come dressed up and take part in a whole school book week dress up parade.

The Year One team has decided to read and explore two of the books that have been selected for an award and are displayed in the library called The Snow Wombat and All I Want For Christmas is Rain. This links in closely with our learning in HASS lessons about the globe, weather and seasons.

We would like your child to come dressed for a type of weather  (e.g. rain coat, gumboots etc.) or as a particular type of weather  (e.g. as a sun, cloud, rainbow etc.) There are some very creative ways to dress as weather so I am looking forward to seeing how the children develop this book week dress up idea.

If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact me.

School Photos

Hi all parents.

Room 7 will have school photos this Friday. We will be having photos before recess. Please make sure your child is NOT wearing a faction shirt on this day.

PJ Day

This Wednesday the 21st of June it will be the Winter Solstice. The whole school will be celebrating by wearing pyjamas to school on this day and experiencing an hour without power. I will be sad to miss it but I’m sure the kids will have the best time.

Dear Parents,

I am writing to inform you of my absence from Monday the 19th up until Tuesday the 27th of June. I will return to school on Wednesday the 28th. Unfortunately, there has been a family emergency that will take me out of the country for this period. Please be assured that the routine of our classroom will not be disturbed. I have fully planned and prepared for all the learning that will take place in the classroom in my absence and there will be no disruption to the the program. I have spoken in detail to the teacher who will be relieving me and I am confident that the program will run smoothly.

Many thanks for your understanding.
