Today’s Assembly

Thank you to all the parents that were able to come along to today’s assembly. I hope you all enjoyed it! I know it meant so much to all your kids that you were there. They all did such a fabulous job today and I am so proud of each and every one of them. They all learned their lines so well and I want to say a big thank you to all of you who helped their children with that. Every staff member that I saw this afternoon was exceptionally complementary of their polished performance under some very trying circumstances. We were asked yesterday afternoon (at the last minute) to change the order of the assembly which meant that the kids had to forget everything they had been rehearsing. Again they did an amazing job!

It makes me very sad to think that I have less than 5 weeks left with your beautiful children before they leave me for Year 2. Where has the year gone???

The big day has finally arrived! Room 7 is looking forward to hosting the assembly tomorrow. We hope you can all make it! Thank you all for helping your child learn their lines for the big performance. Thank you also to those parents who have already sent in a coloured t-shirt for your child to wear. If you have not already done so, could you please be sure to send a labelled plain coloured t-shirt in with your child tomorrow. They are not allowed to wear it to school but they will be changing into them just before the assembly. Hope to see you all on the undercover area tomorrow afternoon at around 1.30.

Our assembly is coming up!

We are just one week away from our big day!

Next Tuesday the 14th of November Room 7 will be hosting the Junior Assembly. The assembly will be in the undercover are and will commence around 1.30pm. We have been practising very hard at school and hopefully at home too!

On the day it would be great if the kids could all be wearing a plain bright coloured t-shirt with their school uniform bottom (shorts or skirt). If you would like to send in a t-shirt in a labelled shopping bag before the day to be organised I am happy to store them.

Sports Carnival

As you know, tomorrow is our Junior Sports Carnival. A few things to note:

  • Our carnival runs from 11:15am til (hopefully!) 2:35pm.
  • Please make sure students have faction shirts, hats, sunscreen and a water bottle. Students must have hats for tomorrow. Please make sure everything is labelled.
  • Students will have recess before they go out to their faction tents.
  • Lunch will be at 12.50pm and go for about 20 minutes. Parents who are there can come into the bays to eat with students but students aren’t to come out of the bay.
  • Students are encouraged to come decorated in their faction colours but this is to be done at home, not at school.
  • Students need to be collected from the classroom at the end of the day, not from the oval. If any students are going home early, they need to be signed out of the front office before taking the child.
  • The canteen is not open tomorrow.

Just  a reminder, please make sure that if your child is absent from school at any point you must notify me or the school by either email, school app or phoning the front office. If you do not notify the school please be aware that the absence will be recorded as unauthorised and you may be contacted by admin for an explanation.

At the conclusion of the event, students will return to classrooms with teachers in readiness for pick-up at 2.50pm. It would be much appreciated if parents could adhere to this process to assist in accountability for all students.

Looking forward to a great day and we hope to see you there.

Happy Holidays Room 7

Good morning all. It has certainly been an extremely busy and exhausting term 3. Week 10 was the busiest of all with the Open Night, Author Visit and finally the Book Week Dress Up. The kids have certainly earned their holidays this term. It was unfortunate that the weather yesterday was so terrible and the parade had to be cancelled. (The weather combined with the dress up meant that the kids were extremely excitable to say the least!!!!) Despite all this, in the short breaks in the weather, the children were called up to the undercover area in 2 year groups at time to parade and show off their costumes to their peers and teachers. Here are some photos of the day.

As we are in week ten homework folders will not be sent home this week. If your child has not returned their folder and still has a reading book at home please return it ASAP so we can return the reading trolley for this term.

Thank you

Week 10 update

Good morning all,

I can not believe we are at week 10 already!

As you all know next Wednesday night from 5.30 until 7.00 the school will be open for Open Night. We have been very busily preparing for this night in our classroom and are all very excited for you all to see the fabulous work we have been doing this term. In preparation for Wednesday night, starting Monday, we will have a Kiss and Drop at the door policy. The room will be top secret as of Monday!

Also, next week, we celebrate Book Week. This means that on the Wednesday we will have an author visit our school. We will be going to chat with her about her writing processes. On Friday of next week is the book week dress up. Please send your child to school in a dress up related to ‘weather’.

Looking forward to a busy and productive final week of Term 3. Thank you all again for your continued support.
