2017 Book Week Theme: Escape to Everywhere
Imagination drives creativity and innovation. It allows us to envision and escape to worlds beyond our own, to times other than the here and now. It turns boxes into racing cars, dining chairs and blankets into pirate forts, and dress-ups into sweeping ball gowns. Imagination is behind every fairy tale and picture book we cherish from our childhoods.

Our class has chosen Book Week Finalist –

The Snow Wombat

Susannah Chambers, illustrated by Mark Jackson
SHORT-LISTED: CBCA Book of the Year, Early Childhood, 2017
“Snow on the stockman’s hut
Snow on the crows
Snow on the woollybutt
Snow on my NOSE!”
It’s a big journey through the snow for a little wombat, meeting animals, birds and people along the way…but there’s no place like home!
A heartwarming story set in the Australian High Country.Watch the video here –https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KY7YMbDCYaE

Kiss and Drop

Hi Parents,
Starting Monday all Year 2 classes will be instigating a kiss and drop policy.
This means parents will drop this kids at the door of the classroom. This will allow us to secretly set up our learning journey for open night, and is also part of our transition into Year 3. Kiss and Drop will continue for Term 4, as we transition the children into the senior part of the school.
As per usual, if you need to chat, please feel free to email me or catch me after school.
Only one Term of Year 2 to go!

Disco

A reminder that the disco is this Friday and forms are to be returned by 3pm today (Tuesday). Online payments via Flexischools will close at the same time. Parents who have volunteered to help supervise at the disco will be contacted soon.
