The end of the year seems to have come around so quickly….as it seems to do every year! Where does the time go?

As I mentioned at the end of year concert, 2017 has been another outstanding and highly enjoyable year for our school.

I am sure I speak for you all when I say thank you to every single staff member at our school for their great dedication and commitment to our school.

They have worked tirelessly again this year to make sure Aubin Grove continues to be the best school in WA and I am deeply grateful to them all.

Their students, your children, are their number one priority and we should all be indebted to them for the work they do.

I would like I would also like to take this opportunity say farewell, thank you and best wishes to those Aubin Grove staff who are leaving to take on new challenges: Tamie Douglas, Sandie Dalgleish, Matt Paparone, Julia Calvert, Von Jercic-Mcfadyen, Jacquie Ewers, Lindsay Fletcher, Sandy Wingfield, Cherie Devine, Ashleigh Axeford, Sean Holland, Rebecca Brooksbank and Sandi Harrison. They have all made great contributions to our school and we will miss them all.

Special thanks and farewell to Mrs Nola Smith as she sets sail into retirement. We will all miss her too but I remain hopeful that we will be able to get her back to do some relief work around the school in the future. Fingers crossed!

This year we also say goodbye to many families who are leaving our school. I’d like to offer our best wishes to all students and their families who are moving on. Thank you and I wish you well in whatever the future brings for you.

To those families heading off to Honeywood, I wish you all the very best. I well remember the excitement of commencing at a new school seven years ago and all the excitement and rewards that that brings. I know that you will love your new school and that you will also enjoy the experience of building something special for your children. Our very best wishes go with you.

Our special wishes go with our graduating Year 6s as they head off to high school. They were an exceptional group of Student Leaders who we will sorely miss. I know they will do Aubin Grove and their parents proud at high school and in their lives beyond.

I would also like to say a huge thanks to you, our fantastic parents and carers. As always, I appreciate your commitment and support for our school and the trust you place in us.

At the Graduation Ceremony, I spoke of the importance of the partnership between teachers and parents.

This is one of the things that makes our school so successful and a great place to be- the commitment to the partnership between parent and teacher that must exist in order for a student to achieve their potential.

This mutual understanding and mutual respect between parents and teachers is the key to success.

You can’t do it without us and we can’t do it without you! We are a team.

You have shown trust in us by doing this and for that, we thank you.

On behalf of our staff I wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas, a Happy New Year and enjoyable holiday period.

We all look forward to seeing you back, safe and sound when school resumes for students on Wednesday, January 31, 2018.

Frank Pansini, Principal
