Aubin Grove wins WA Education Awards

Aubin Grove is the leading primary school in WA guided by the State’s best principal. At the 2016 WA Education Awards ceremony at Crown Perth on Monday morning, principal Frank Pansini had the honour of accepting both the Primary School and Primary Principal of the Year awards. It was the first time a WA primary school had won both awards in the same year.

Mr Pansini, the inaugural principal of the school, said it was an incredible achievement having only been open for six years, during which time student numbers had jumped from 315 to more than 1100 children. “We have worked very hard to be the very best school we can be since opening in 2011,” he said.

Mr Pansini acknowledged past and present staff at the school, in particular business manager Sheryl Mansfield and deputy principals Nola Smith, Mesha Steele and Kathryn Grzelec.

“They are amazing, and make my job so much easier with their incredible support and expertise,” he said. Mr Pansini said the dedication of the staff, combined with the commitment and support of families and the school board, made for an environment where the students needs were always put first.

And it was those very students who treated him to a rock-star reception after the ceremony, forming a guard of honour that wove through the school grounds.

Mr Pansini said he felt that he had the best principal’s position in WA at Aubin Grove. “It is one of those jobs that gives you more pleasure and more reward than any other job imaginable,” he said.
